Users can simply long-press any message for translate WhatsApp chats and tap “Translate” to see it in another language. On Android, you’ll also have the option to turn on automatic translation for whole chat threads so new messages in that chat will be translated automatically without needing to repeat the action.

Privacy Safeguards
WhatsApp emphasizes that all translations happen on the user’s device. This means messages are not sent to WhatsApp’s servers for translation, preserving end-to-end encryption.
The user decides which languages they want to download packs for, so translations can work even offline once language packs are downloaded.
