Headline: IIT Madras Unveils AI Skill Portal to Empower Rural India
In a major push to bridge the digital skills divide, IIT Madras has launched an AI-powered learning portal designed exclusively to train rural and semi-urban youth in emerging technologies. Named ‘AI Learn Bharat’, the platform uses adaptive learning algorithms to customize content delivery based on each learner’s pace and understanding.
The initiative is part of IIT Madras’ Center for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) and supported by the Ministry of Education. Courses will include AI basics, data handling, digital communication, and employability skills, with regional language support and offline modules for areas with low connectivity.
What sets this portal apart is its real-time mentorship feature powered by AI chatbots and live expert access. Learners will receive certifications from IIT Madras, boosting credibility in the job market.
Officials believe this could be a game-changer for India’s rural tech landscape, helping democratize access to quality education and plug the skill gap in the country’s expanding AI economy.
