In a strategic move to empower India’s small business sector, Microsoft has announced expanded access to its Copilot AI tools for Indian SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). The rollout includes integrations across Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, and Excel, offering automation and smart assistance at a fraction of traditional costs.

This marks a significant shift in Microsoft’s India strategy, targeting the country’s 65+ million SMEs, many of whom are in the early stages of digital transformation. Copilot AI will now assist in automating email responses, generating documents, analyzing spreadsheets, and even summarizing meeting transcripts in real-time.

Satya Nadella emphasized that democratizing AI for small businesses is key to India’s economic leap in the AI era. Eligible businesses will also gain access to localized onboarding support, vernacular training modules, and Azure-backed AI infrastructure.

Industry leaders believe this could reshape operational efficiency for Indian SMEs, helping them compete globally with AI-powered agility and smarter workflows.
