From helping farmers talk to chatbots in their own language, to translating Supreme Court judgments, AI4Bharat is already making a real impact. Its AI models are behind major projects like:

• Bhashini, the government’s multilingual internet platform
• SUVAS, which helps translate court documents
• Voice bots for agriculture, making life easier for rural communities

Now, with Nandan Nilekani backing AI4Bharat again, the team plans to take things even further—improving speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech for more Indian languages.

“This is about giving every Indian a voice in the digital world,” said someone close to the initiative.
